Reference Number 2/1240. Early 19th century c. 1825, French Restauration period gilt overmantel mirror with wonderfully detailed decoration round the frame. It has the original split mercury backed mirror plate (there were some workshops at that time which were unable to make mirror plate in large sizes: often when large mirrors were made two or more pieces of plate were put in the frame) which is fabulously age marked: it has the original back.
