Reference Number 1/1386. Early 19th century c.1810, French Empire gilt period wall mirror with typical flat moulded decoration of oak leaves, acorns and acanthus leaves. It has the original very thin mercury backed split mirror plate and parquet back. This is an early mirror from a workshop that was unable to make this size of mirror in one piece possibly because they were making particularly thin plate. The size is 131 x 89cm (51.5 x 35 inches) £1950. |
