Reference Number 1/1514. Mid 19th century c.1860, French Napoleon III period double crested oval mirror. Both crests show acanthus leaves and flowers with the decoration at the top of the oval tumbling down the sides of the frame. The original gilding is mellow with the subtle patina of age and the original mercury-backed mirror plate is beautifully marked; it also has the original wooden boarded back. This is a glorious mirror. The size is 140 x 102cm (55 x 40 inches) £4200.
