Reference Number 1/1536. Mid 19th century c. 1860, French Napoleon III period double crested border glass oval mirror with fabulous decoration to the frame. There is a large central acanthus leaf decorated shield crest at the top with connecting frame detail showing bay leaves round rosettes. The original very marked mercury-backed mirror plates present a wonderful contrast with the subtle glow of the gilding. It has the original wooden boarded back. The size is 132 x 94cm (52 x 37 inches) £4200.
